Welcome To
Luther Jones Elementary!
Home of the
State's Greatest Scholars!
A demand for academic excellence, a positive, nurturing learning environment, and friendly rapport among our scholars, staff, parents, and the entire school community combine to create a safe family atmosphere where all scholars consistently strive to excel. Earning acknowledgement as a National PTA School of Excellence for Parental Involvement, Luther Jones Elementary is committed to offering and mentoring exceptional teaching practices for all children. We believe every scholar is gifted and every individual has an opportunity for growth.

Utilizing Interdisciplinary Instructional Connections, Depth and Complexity systems, Multiple Intelligence teaching strategies, and a Positive Phrasing Behavior approach, scholars experience learning at the highest levels of instruction; evaluation, synthesis, and analysis, and develop a sincere hunger and thirst to learn more! Our accelerated enrichment program designed for gifted and talented children is provided to every scholar. Interdisciplinary Instruction allows scholars to bridge and transfer information throughout the disciplines. It enables them to find the EVIDENCE for their thinking, process information, and become independent learners with the ability to think on a higher level. This allows them to connect information at a global level in a natural way. Teaching in all eight Multiple Intelligence modalities insures differentiation of instruction so that each child's learning needs are addressed.

The positive atmosphere at Luther Jones Elementary is pervasive. Everyone sees the glass as half-full. Parents, staff, and scholars have learned the benefit of phrasing expectations positively!

We offer numerous scholarly options: Mighty Marlin Mates Chess Club, LJE Running Club, Trophy Tuesday Recognition, Mighty Marlin of the Week Selection, Celebrity Substitutes, Marlin Spirit Awards, Destination Imagination Teams (DI), Student Council, and Safety Patrol. The ability to take the knowledge gained on our campus and use it in other arenas is a direct result of mentoring, modeling, and expecting every person to achieve their best.
All scholars believe Success Begins With Me!
